Going Zero to go Hero
Very depressed in the haircare department. Ordered this new powdered shampoo and conditioner and tried it out and it was terrible. The shampoo seemed ok, but I don't think that the pouches were as recyclable as the place touts. They are foil and paper. and plastic to seal it. Just left me screaming no no no. And then I didn't get the spout jars with the the hand soap tops. I somehow decided to put them in pickle jars. One of them still smelling suspiciously like pickles.
So I mixed the jars with some hot water and shook them hard to break up the conditioner which had solidified into chunks. I must admit that I really liked how the shampoo foamed up but I put way to much and my hair was transformed into a soap factory gone mad. My hair was full of foam for minutes as I washed and washed and washed. and rinsed and tried to get out the massive amounts of soap that I had poured on my head. Then I did the same thing with the conditioner. Which was very conditioning. But I don't really know what to do.
I wanted the pump bottles but I was trying to save money. I'm scared to use it again. Maybe if I had a spoon and spooned out two or three teaspoons of the liquid? It was so depressing. It's ok though. I'll be fine. I just died a thousand deaths as I stood there in the shower, my hair transformed into a foam dispenser. So traumatized.
I really like this shampoo and conditioner, except the packaging and the conditioner caking up. and the whole not sure how much to use and pouring a lot of the jar over my head. Twice. So fun fun, go zero waste they said, have a good time, they said. I hope this lets you know it's not all fun and games. Sometimes you have to go zero to go hero.
